Regulator Ready: DASY8/6 Module WPT V2.4 and MAGPy V2.4

As a result of our continuous exchange of information and measurement strategies with the regulators, SPEAG has refined the software and issued seven Application Notes showing how to test according to the latest FCC, ISED and IEC regulations.

One of SPEAG’s priorities is to provide the most accurate and user-friendly tools for demonstrating compliance with the requirements of the various regulators and the latest product standards. DASY8/6 Module WPT V2.4 is undoubtedly the most accurate system for demonstrating compliance of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems according to the latest regulations. It is also the easiest way to do this. MAGPy V2.4, on the other hand, is the fastest and most convenient way to demonstrate compliance in situ.

Recent research performed by our partner IT’IS Foundation demonstrated that compliance testing by simulations is unreliable and subject to large uncertainties. Therefore, in collaboration with IT’IS,  we have developed and implemented a method that takes advantage of simulation without the need for modelling and whose results are therefore much more accurate and subject to known uncertainties.

We have created Application Notes that explain in detail, step-by-step how to demonstrate compliance with different regulations and provide the corresponding scientific and engineering background information. These Application Notes have also been shared with the regulators:

The new software DASY8/6 Module WPT V2.4, comes with the following main new features:

• improved compliance tables showing absolute values and standard-dependent relative values;
• improved validation of the localized incident electric field assumption;
• visualization of the measurement grid;
• automatic generation of a log file to document the setup and execution of the whole measurement process.

MAGPy V2.4 software has also been updated to include extrapolation of the magnetic fields to the probe tip. This would allow using MAGPy for validating numerical device-under-test models.
